I wrote these poems after reading an article about Alzheimers Disease. Something I think most of us fear
Poem l
She reflected,
wistfully,
that her mind was
like a mirror
that had
stored images of
her life.
But when
the mirror cracked
her memories
slid off tack
to the silvered back.
She then
could not recall
at all
anymore.

Poem ll
His mind was slowly
darkened by a shadow
which eclipsed his life
silently,
unseen,
His mind left slowly
quietly,
unseen, until
he became a shadow
of his former self.
